I would say yes, as long as Trudeau prohibits a lot more firearms.The more revenue he gets, the more firearms he will prohibit, the better the value for money for gun owners. Win-win!

I need my PAL to get rifles and ammo to hunt., Heck I dont even own restricteds cauz its too much of a PITA.

actually I could do all of that without a PAL, But Jail sucks and there is no way in hell im ever going back.
 
Firearms legislation in general is a display of laziness from our leaders to deal with the actual issues that contribute to violent crime. it's always easier to make rules for those that follow them then to deal with actual issues. This way they can say they did something and the sheep praise them for it.
 
So pay a large ($5000 sum) up front to the government and suddenly you are trusted with a pistol barrel length of 4.0" instead of 4.15"? Yep, that makes a lot of sense.

Can I use them?

Can I use them where I can non restricted?

Can I get one that allows surpressors?

Can I get one for CCW?
 
$5000 for something we should already have the right to use? Hell no...

Maybe you should say $500,000. The rich guys on forum would pay it for full auto that they still couldn't take anywhere :jerkit:
 
Despite the pros and cons of the debate that this generates, and there are many of those as we can see, my hat's off to you for thinking of another angle to come at a thorny problem instead of the same old / same old.

That is all I meant by this poll. Since the Gubbermint will NEVER GIVE it to us, no matter how many letters we write, or how many marches we do. Just trying to see what kind of sentiment is out there. Please don't get your feathers all ruffled. I started thinking about this when I saw the fees associated with owning different things in the U.S.A. such as a tax stamp etc to own a suppressor. Some people would rather attack my idea, but their idea of waiting for the government to backup, admit they were wrong, and GIVE us back the rights we HAD is naive at best.

This is a hell of a suggestion if you want to install Robber Barons as a government.

This directly implements the idea that a government can 'take away freedoms and and charged them back to you to access' for ransom.

How about they decide for safety reasons you can't drive between dusk and dawn unless you pay $5,000 to the government? That sounds even better! :)

You don't have to come up with a better idea to say that 'cutting your own throat' because somebody else did something wrong to you is not a good solution.

Nobody has slagged anybody other than pointing out a bad idea and a bad solution. If their egos are so fragile that they see having a bad idea or bad aspects of their idea as being slagged or needing
special 'soft honey like words' to sooth their egos they should seek their safe space.

There certainly is a better idea.

Eliminate the prohibited classification. Simple as that.

Fix the problem pure and simple instead of trying to figure out ways of scratching your left ear with your right foot when there is a simple direct solution.

Ideas like this are simple contortions to work around faults and injustices by accepting them somehow then trying to twist yourself to conform.
