Curious. As a way to raise revenue for any good cause the government could come up with, such as a victims of crime account or education of firearms safety fund etc , would YOU be willing to Come up with a Fee to gain the Prohibited class on your PAL? We are the ones they have the LEAST to worry about. There are no more law abiding people in Canada than the licenced to shoot people. This will NEVER happen, we all know that, but since no Government would ever give this for free, what if they were financially enticed to allow it.

Pay for freedoms.... lol...

My thoughts exactly. A gun is a gun and government is to stupid to see the difference. Makes no sense that because one is .01" shorter it is prohibited. That .01 does not make it more lethal or all of a sudden turn it into a seal killing machine that fires all by itself.

That sounds like a wonderful plan. Pay for freedom you should already have. And once you have paid for it, it's like the 12.5 I have. Yes you can keep your FN etc. but you are not allowed to shoot it because an FN FAL .308 semi auto is tooooo dangerous to shoot on a civilian range. And good luck getting access to a military range. So, to answer your question, it is complete bull#### to give up more than we already have. Fucok compromise, we have bled enough.

If I didn't all ready have it, I wouldn't pay for it. Very rarely do my prohibs make it out to the club with me. I'd pay 5 grand for CCW, though. Then I'd have a good use for the prohibs.

Uh, a bond implies a return on investment later.

So pay 5k, own a prohib for a few years, and get my money back once I sell the prohib, plus a return?

Why are we even discussing paying the Govt for access to firearms. We don't need to give them or the anti's any more bright ideas.
They have enough dumb ones already. We start paying to have firearms and it will spread like wildfire. The next thing you know it will be a yearly fee. The fees will go up for various types of firearms they don't like. We need to kill any talk or thought that any of us would be willing to enter into a cash for guns program.

It isn't the point of paying for freedom. lots of us would pay extra to be able to acquire and use said guns. As I said, I have 12.5 since the nineties, but the government has let us keep our guns, but have taken away our right to use them. I once could take my FN FAL to my local range and shoot it. In 2001 or 2002 I was sent a letter that I could no longer shoot my 12.5 at anywhere but a military range that I have no access to. Now what do I do with it? I wrote letters etc but no one cares. I love my guns, but a gun you can't shoot loses appeal.
I like the enthusiasm from those saying they wouldn't pay for freedom. So whens your firearms license up for renewal. LOL
