Thinking of selling my PGW Timberwolf. I've loved shooting it, but realistically, it was probably not the wisest of financial moves to have purchased.

It's topped by a Tangent Theta 315M, making use of ATRS rings.

Any advice for selling? Price point? Scope separate or not? Shipping or not? How much is shipping on these beasts?

I'm in the Ottawa area.

Don't be too disappointed J996...

Funny when you look in EE over time how many tactical 338s you'll find for sale vs same rifle in 308.

By this unit of measurement you can confirm the wisdom of your choice to sell such a beast.

At first the 338 seems to have appeal like a stripper girlfriend, but that enthusiasm tends to fade after you feed the thing for a while and put up with the recoil.

It's ok to date a 338 for a while but guys tend to keep the 308s.

Beautiful set up you have there! Too bad you need to move it...

Lots of nice stuff for sale on the EE and some of it has been there for a while even at reasonable price points....economy is hurting lots of folks both buying and selling it seems.

I think you will have some trouble moving it quickly unless somebody is specifically looking for a Timberwolf, and that guy will know what they're worth and want a deal...scope would likely move though.

18 months ago, I bet it would be gone in a week....doesn't hurt to try!

Oh, trust me... it's not the shooting. It costs around 3 times per round to fire compared to a .308, true. But it is such a pleasure to shoot. I've seen people tear through rounds of .308 at the range to get the same smile as a few .338's. Bang for buck once you own one, completely worth it.

I've just never recovered from the initial cost.

P!

Whatever you do don't sell the scope!! You bought that before TT"s prices went up and you won't get better glass anywhere so keep it and put it away for a future rifle.

Sorry to hear you are having to even contemplate this man.

Yeah, that scope has gone up in value by quite a bit.. I'd hang on to it. I know mines worth 2k more than I paid last january.

They are expensive that is for sure, I'm going through the same conversation with my wife right now. And with a young family that is a lot of capital to recover, I found a deal to get back into one so it won't be that bad, but still its a lot of money...

of course its your decision, the nice thing about firearms is you can usually get a similar amount of value out of them year to year. Hobbies cost money, regardless of what you get into. My strategy has been to get my wife involved, the more she gets involved, the more she understands the costs and is ok with them. Once our son is old enough to shoot you better believe he's going to be right beside mom and dad grouping shots with a .22

That said, I think firearms is one of the only hobbies where as time passes you dont take a kicking on resale (motorsports is what I'm thinking about lol)

Ya know, you could likely afford to keep it and feed it if you sold prints off that kick-ass picture of your little one the tongue out pose!!!!

Hahahaahha!!!!
