Hey everyone.

Just picked up a Gen 4 G20. Does anyone know where I can find some good 10mm ammo? I'm looking for pretty much anything but would really like to find some of the hotter ammo to try out.

Thanks.

Not many options in Canada for full power loads. The Hornady 180jhp is loaded hotter than most other ammo. Silvertips advertise there velocity much, much higher than I ever saw over a chronograph. I had a few boxes with squibs as well. I quit buying loaded 10mm ammo and started making my own many years ago.

Shooting a lot of 10mm is a great excuse to start reloading. It's a very versatile round but factory ammo that is available in Canada is very limited, not to mention very expensive.

Your best bet is to start reloading! Unless you plan to shoot it a couple times a year or sell it in a months or two its well worth it. Factory 10mm is going to be both overpriced and under powered.

+1. Buying factory ammo for anything is prohibitively expensive these days. As noted, factory 10mm Auto is also weak sauce compared to maximum handloads.

Makes sense.

Shooting out of a Gen 4 Glock 20. Should I use the factory barrel or should I tells yolk for an aftermarket barrel if I start to reload some hotter ammo?

I did a lot of testing and found no benefit to running an aftermarket barrel. Maybe with the older generations that had the less supported chambers but gen 3 and 4 handle full pressure handloads just fine.

Factory barrel would be fine with plated or FMJ bullets ( I wouldn't use factory barrel with lead bullets, unless you're gonna run lower pressure loads and clean it after every range trip)
