What is your choice? And what caliber and why?

IMO it's a 40 cal Glock.

Simple and easy to use.

45 doesn't make anything any deader but the bigger mag capacity of a 40 makes a huge difference. 9mm ammo is cheaper but there are no other advantages.

the best combat handgun-that's easy. it's the one you can put into action the fastest and shoot the straightest. so for me it is the SIG 320 or the CZ75. that's my 2 cents for all it's worth.

Wow, this will open up a lot of different responses! Why? Because the BEST combat handgun is the one that suits you! I am preferable to CZ's, especially the SP-01 series as it is easy to shoot, accurate and very low recoil. This may differ though from others, as women would most likely prefer glock's due to their light weight and simplistic design . It is too each one's own, CZ's, Glocks, Sigs, and Beretta's are all good accurate and reliable choices, however, it is whatever is manageable by you, and feels good in your hands! As for calibre, it is definitely the 9mm due to its ease of shooting and lack of recoil. With ammunition design and powders now, it is not too far off with 'one shot stops' as compared to other calibres.
