Any idea on pricing and who to go to for a barrel replacement on my cz 452? Wondering if it would be worth it to have a 16" stainless heavy barrel installed :)

Out of curiosity what is the reason you would like to re barrel? My 452 is an absolute tack driver and other then bench rest shooting I can't see how a new barrel would make a huge difference unless you have a bad one. But if it's a case of just wanting to do it because you can I wont argue with you lol!

Oh ya know just cuz i like the idea of heavy 16" stainless barrel on it lol. It shoots great as it is I mean amazing actually. Maybe I shouldn't mess that up lol

Well if you install a match grade barrel with a match chamber for a bolt action it will shoot even better... the commercial bolt action chambers are too sloppy for best accuracy.

I saved a heavy barrel off a CZ while re barreling it.. and then installed that CZ barrel on my 77-22 with the old chamber cut off and re chambered with a match reamer... and it shoots better than it ever did...

How did you know it was Calvin's old barrel?

Does the Match .22LR chamber accept most ammunition? Or is some difficult to chamber?

depends on the match reamer, a eley match reamer is pretty tight for the rim thickness of lapua ammo, closing the bolt can be a challenge on some rounds, that's if they chamber far enough.

All ammunition will fit but the bolt closes firmly at the least... a LR bullet always engages the rifling. Extractors have to be carefully fitted in order to extract a live round...

Hey...... enough about my rifle..... LOL.....

Nothing that you did Dennis. Maybe the stock was designed that way. One side of the forend was thicker tan the other. I did not like that so I had it put on a milling machine and recontoured. It does shoot very well though with the Benchmark reverse taper barrel.

I believe your reamer is a Lapua Match reamer. Lapua closes much tighter than I would like for a bench rifle. I bought some Eley and closes more to the liking. There is slight resistance not like Lapua.

I should have saved some of my 5 shot groups from this past summer.

Just not quite as tight though as my Feinwerkbau that I have..... just to find the right stock to put the barreled action into..... it would look SWEET in a Scarborough......

Maybe time to place an order for one.

that sounds like a eley match chamber, lapua is tight to close the bolt on in both my swindlehursts, they were both done with a eley match reamer and both rifles shoot the eley much better then the lapua, minus tennex, the lube builds up so fast I can shoot 7 rounds and then not close the bolt on the 8th
