Nice day you had there. I'm surprised at how little snow you have on the ground; lots more around my place, north of Winnipeg. I went out this morning and got no responses at my first two spots, then had a nice dog come in at number 3 and smoked him. Lots of howling heard on many nights lately.
I'm envious of those wide-open expanses you western guys have to shoot across. Around my stomping grounds, 300 yards is pretty much the longest shot you can expect to see. As far as the barometer goes, do you really think that the barometric pressure is directly responsible for more or less activity? I always have assumed that the imminent approach of a spell of rough weather is what spurs a period of heavy activity and feeding simply because the animals "know" that they may be forced to lay low during the coming storm.
