Like many, I have pulled plenty of surplus 7.62x39 apart for the bullets and powder to make plinkers for the .303... Never being one to throw things out, I have therefore accumulated a pail of empty steel primed cases. It was somewhere around the third frozen finger digging through the snow for my brass empties that it dawned on me to try loading my PCed cast bullets in these for winter shooting. That way I can leave the empties where they fall, as God intended. Now I know some of you are saying, "Is it not easier just to shoot the surplus in the SKS and load cast for the .303??!" The answer is absolutely yes....lol I mostly just used the steel bullets in the Enfield before I got my Lee 160 gr mold, but I still like to shoot cast in my SKS because I have some steel targets at home that are fun to plink at with cast, and don't stand up to surplus fmj very well at all.... So short story is, this is working fine! Enough 3031 to cycle the action and pew, pew pew pew.....pew:)
