Siamese Mauser in .405 Win or .303 British?

I have two SMLE's in .410, one original 2 1/2", one 3". We fire lead balls out of both. Is the barrel in your Siamese toast? I know the term "8mm" is rather a loose one. What is a Siamese bore? If a 7.62x54R works as far as brass goes, would it be feasible to blow out the brass to the bore size and fire custom lead bullets or balls out of it. Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead! :p

I acquired it as a bare action. I don't have the barrel.

How about a .450 Alaskan? Harold
I did look into the Alaskan. It's an interesting option for sure.

I'm still leaning towards either 7.62x54 or .303 to make use of all the bullets I have. I would still like to hear from someone about case head diameter vs bolt face diameter. Is there going to be an issue using the .303 case with it's smaller rim diameter? As mentioned before, the rim engages the extractor with a significant amount of spring pressure and it seems to feed and eject proper with dummy rounds. No barrel installed on the action of course so that may change things.
