Dang!! Directly After I Told Her I Was All Done....

Quite a good balance for weight and size actually. I could only imagine touching off a hot 45-70 in a 5lb rifle. Or trying to steady that 350 yard shot with a 5 lb .223. I think the heft of these is probably a good thing. But that butt plate and the straight stock on the brass model looks like it would be unpleasant in a hot 45-70 even if it weighed 10lbs. Still...hard to justify $600 Canadian or more even if they are better built than the H&R. Although in 45-70 there is an appeal....

Dak, I seen your lady in the over 30 thread. Not worth the fight, IMHO. LOL

Thanks Cheap!! Yes, she does make an old redneck like me look good...... She knows that 2017 is the year of optics and reloading supplies!! ;) Mebbe with a few select firearms thrown in..... She is still smiling over the Merc I bought her.

.303 British would be nice. There is a bunch of .308 dia. rounds that would greatly simplify barrel selection. 30-30, .300 Savage, .303 Savage come to mind. Looks like a nice rifle for 7.62x39, .243, .250-3000, and so on.

If they can sell them at a reasonable price, I'll be in for one of the lighter calibers. I had a NEF/H&R short-a$$ed thing in 30-06. My good heavens! Talk about loud. It went to an appreciative new owner.

I find the cartridge selection to be pedestrian...... out of all of those cartridges only the 44 interests me, and if I was to buy a 44, it wouldn't be a 7 pound single shot.......

Still may pick one up, as there is a certain romance to hunting a single...... but I doubt it will meet my price expectations as a jazzed up handi.........

I am.thinking that a "buffalo classic" style may be in the offering eventually. Much like they did with the 1860 Original series.

It's nice to see a quality brand expand their lines. They have great service and build a quality product.
I'm down for a matching set 20 ga and 45/70 singles when they hit up here. And a case colored 30/30 and possibly an all weather 45/70 to

When I think about a Henry, I think of a rifle with a barrel with too much extra fat... heavy, like they're made of depleted uranium.

Now, I do believe their forging process is superior to many others' and the density of their steel is first-rate, but they do need to trim them down a bit. Their octagon barrels are are like anvils.

I like your suggestions and add the mention of the 22 hornet; and the 32 special, 356 Win and the 375 Win.

Also, I hope that these are not "re-badged" Bakals - which looked nice but the 308 I had was sold because I could not get it to shoot a decent group.
