Has anyone tried a "scout" type scope set-up on a Vz58?
I've done the side mount... didn't like it. Couldn't find a quality short eye relief compact scope that doesn't require a deflector. Also I'm not a fan of the PSO scopes on a Vz58... It's not an AK no matter what stock you put on it
Don't want the rail that goes over the receiver because it removes the rear sight (functional and accessible iron sights are my personal doctrine)
I'm thinking of a Burris 2.75x20 Scout mounted on a NEA upper hand guard rail and barrel clamp rail to keep it as low as possible. Yes, I know the rails have to be level and I have a solution to do so.
Opinions?
