Glock 17 or Sig P226?

When I was a child I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, I played with plastic toy pistols as a child;

When I became a man I put away childish things, and I shot real pistols made of steel and aluminum, like a Sig P226.

This has got to be the most useless opinion I've ever read on here.
I suppose next you'll tell us all about your 45 and it's "stopping power" and how only real men drive fords?

I have had both. The Sig I had first. The fit and finish of it was excellent. However fit and finish is not everything. For me I could not get used to the higher barrel and it felt like the gun was flipping in my hand. My G17 isn't finished as nice, but I think is a better looking pistol. The grip angle of the Glock just works better for me combined with a lower barrel helps with getting back on target easier for follow up shots.

In the end if you can try before you buy it would be ideal. Then buy which ever one works best for you. Happy hunting!

Same thing for me

Having had a few of both, I prefer the sig but the glock is probably the better gun overall due to its sheer simplicity and the fact that it just works.

I have both. I'm (slightly) more accurate with my p226 Xtreme, but my Glock gets more use as it is simpler and faster to deploy for IDPA.

Both have collected dust since I got my PPQ...

I've got both. The Glock gets some play time and the Sig collects dust. A Sig 226 was the first pistol I bought and the first pistol I shot in IPSC and IDPA (still have it).

If you are punching holes in paper, both are more than up to the task - get whichever is most appealing to you.

I sold all my other pistol and kept a pair of G17, you will have to own two to tell people why you love Glock .

These threads always wind up with everyone suggesting to get what they like best. Both the Glock and SIG are excellent but very different pistols and neither have significant flaws. Try both if you can and if you can't buy the one you'll think you like best and if you don't care for it, flip it on the EE and get the other.
