My question is
Now i only have my unrestricted license and i am into wait for the restricted. If ill buy a unrestricted brs99 can i only change the barrel when i will have it and register it as restricted ? How all of this work .. i am little confuse with these two gun who can easy turn into restricted....

You can only change the barrel when you have your restricted and you must call the cfo to register it as restricted. If you do not have your restricted you cannot change your barrel to the restricted length

Ok i change the barrel and call the rcmp
Its easy to find restricted barrel ?

Getting restricted barrels can be hard at times ,they come and go.Tactical imports had them, but sold out again.

I'm pretty sure, once classified as restricted it will always be a restricted, even if you put on the original barrel.Don/t think you can go back and forth.

Wrong. You can change it back to NR, you just have to call the Cfo and notify them of the change, and maybe take it to a verifier to have the status confirmed for the CFO.

Yes OK ,I kind of thought so, but what a PITA.

Sold mine last summer (NR) could never find the short barrels.

You can always have the barrel cut down, at the same time the gunsmith (could) verify the length if he is licensed(?) to.

That would be a cheap solution.
But Why limit to restricted? Vanity? Keep it NR and never worry about restrictions.

You can't just swap the barrel, make a phone call and be done with it. It all needs to be checked and documented by a licensed individual.
Same with the change from NR-R. they would need proof its no longer a restricted rifle.

You know what, I did not mind the way it looked with the NR barrel and shroud ,looked OK to me.I sold mine because I needed funds ,no other reason.

Incorrect again. Canadian law states that any barrel cut down to a length of less than 18" after it was factory produced is makeing a prohibited device. This does not apply to factory produced lengths. Worlds dumbest law...

Everything is metal. The only plastic is the forestock.Mine came with two magazine, a 20 and 30 both pinned to 5 of course.

Its a very nice gun, closest thing to an Uzi you will ever get.

ok thanks
i think i will order one tomorrow.
If you order it with only the short barrel it will come as a restricted firearm but if you order it and include the optional longer barrel you can get it as a non restricted firearm. When I bought mine a few years ago it also came with a barrel shroud that looked like a fake suppressor. Looks like they don't have any of the shrouds now. Too bad as my shroud is broken and I can't find a replacement.

Yah ,you really do need the shroud to make it look good, otherwise....well looks like a noodle.I

The shroud fake suppressor has a good look to it IMHO
