Hi I'm looking at red dot scopes for turkey hunting and I keep coming across the Bushnell trs-25 it's got great reviews and seems much more solidly built than the truglo red/green dot sight that came with my shotgun. Is the dual color really necessary. Would that put me at a disadvantage with the red only on the Bushnell. I'm open to suggestions for other options but I'm not looking to spend a fortune. I've been getting the job done for years now without an optic

Thanks

I have three of them and think they're great, along with Vortex Sparcs and Strike Eagles. Most cases I haven't needed to use a green reticle and have done just fine with red.

Like the hot sauce commercial "I put that sh;*# on everything ..lol . I still have 3 of them as well and have had them mounted on AR,s , a couple types of Shotguns , a couple M-305,s , Roni kit for my Glock , and got 2 nice bucks with one on my Marlin 45-70 . They are a great little red dot for the money . I read that some of the TRS-25,s with the emitter not at 5:00 had some issues though.

I use one on a Mossberg 935 and use Winchester xr 3 1/2" turkey loads. have been using it exclusively for turkey's for a few years and it's never lost zero and have never had a problem with the red dot only even on really sunny days. really like this setup.

I have had a Bushnell TRS-25 for about 5 years now. It is a fantastic red dot for the money and the battery is easy to find. A couple of years ago while sighting in a rifle and I managed to forget the adjustment knob caps on the bench. I was absolutely pissed when I got home! The next day at work, I called them. They sent me a set for free, even when I told them the truth. I received them about a week later. Good company by my experience.

Hope this helps.

I impressed with mine. Maybe a color blind guy would prefer the green?

I broke the rear lens on mine with an ejected case. They replaced the entire unit, even thou it was my fault. Please by one and tell them I said thank you.

I found another bushnell that's interesting but quite a bit longer the trs-28 it's got different reticles and the red-green option. This other one has some good reviews as well but I like the compact trs-25 so far. I've got some time before turkey season so I'm not rushing to buy one yet.
