bulk pellets?

If you are looking for the largest quantity of pellets sold in a single package, then Crosman pellets may be your answer. The cheapest .177 Crosman pellets are available in a small milk carton-like container with 1250 pellets; better quality Crosman pellets are available in the same quantity in a cardboard box. Take a look at Scopes and Ammo online. The major airgun dealers will be happy to sell you a sleeve or more at a time. (That's ten tins of 500 pellets.)

On the other hand, if you are looking for the cheapest pellets in the greatest quantity possible, go to Walmart or some such place and buy the cheapest (usually Chinese-made) pellets they have.

Pyramid Air in the States ships here and have buy 3 tins get one free deal .Worth it with the exchange .....don't know? Harold

Good prices for good pellets. Contact him for a shipping quote on what you want.

amazon.ca is hit and miss. Sometimes you can get a deal on pellets (like the 1250 count .177 or 625 count .22 Crosman) and take advantage of free shipping. Other times no deal, just free shipping.

I have tried the airgunforum store and shipping/insurance to Vancouver from Ontario was 22$ for an order of six JSB Exact 500 pellet tins, combined .22 and .177. No BC tax. Total cost was around $90.
Unfortunately, none of them shot better than my cheap Crosman premier hollow points. These CPHP pellets cost only C$9.00 per 500 tin, same for .177 .22 shipped, ordered from the U.S. (Shipped to a U.S. Mailbox)

Depends on your rifle, but usually Crosman airguns and other American similar airguns prefer Crosman pellets. They're great in those rifles, but don't fare well in the European guns, generally.

I have an odd rifle that seems to shoot just about anything relatively well. CPHPs will group under 1" at 50 yards for me, but JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy never misses a 1/2" target at 50 yards when I'm benchrested, and I really mean never. It's boringly consistent. For me, it's worth the extra, especially for hunting. I buy "bulk" from Dan at the forum store. I get a slight discount on 10 tins. SSSO offers a discount in bulk, as well.

That's a great price on those CPHPs, though! Can I ask where you get that deal?

Amazon.com has deals on Crosman pellets from time to time. CPHP .177 and .22 were around the same price at US$6.28/6.47 per 500 tin when I bought them early last year. Free shipping depending on amount of order. Also tried the Crosman Field Hunting .177 in 1,250 round milk cartons at US$10.67 per carton. (CFH was not as accurate as the CPHP) Shipped to a US mail box at the border.

I was looking for the best pellets for my HW97Ks in both .177 and .22. Pleasantly surprised the .177 CPHP shot equally well with Exact 4.52, but disappointed that in .22, both CPHP and Exact 5.52 and 5.53 were equally bad.

1 inch 50 yd groups are great and .5 inch are phenomenal. .177 or .22? What rifle? BTW, I prefer boringly consistent, when it comes to accuracy:d

I usually just buy a bunch of Crosman 'premier' hollow points if I find them on sale at a canadian tire or walmart... they have shot pretty well in most air guns I've had over the years.

That's unbelievable. Hyperbole aside, that's the kind of accuracy a great many .22LR sporter shooters using match ammo strive to achieve and often don't.:)

I don't know Barfman...but I wouldn't be surprised if some high-grade PCP guns can come close to pulling that off. "Never" is a bold claim but then....I'm an average shooter no matter what gun I'm using. :) As for "bulk" pellets~I only shoot air guns that are a pain in the arse...so high-consumption of pellets is not a challenge I'm faced with. lol I really wouldn't mind finding some Crosman 22 Watcutters though. Haven't seen those for years. They're 1"-ish shooters @ about 40 yards with my barn-pigeon slayer...but that's accurate enough for that job. The wad cutters seem to be very effective in that role, and while they mostly pass through the birds...they're soft enough (and have slowed enough) to cause zero damage once they have.

Hey 22lrguy
I have shot with Barfman and it is true and not just pcp I have three springers that will out shoot my annie any day.As for bulk pellets I buy JSB's by the roll like my chew

Some guys are great shots. For my skills, or lack of the same, Crosman Premier Hollow Points in .177 are cheap and good enough.

Still searching for accurate .22 pellet for my HW97K, the lone .22 in my air gun family. Perhaps the HNs when I get the urge to shoot it again.

I have all kinds of different pellets and have yet to find anything that shoots as good as Cardboard box 1250rnd .177 Crosman Premiere heavy [designed for airgun sillouette]pellets. They are slow and heavy and accurate as it gets.I have dropped squirrels with them at 40-50 meters with head shots with my HW 80.I had them highly recommended to me by Specialty Shooting sports. They even have the Die number stamped on the box, so you know you are getting consistent accuracy..

There's Mangerover with the backup. Yup, and he certainly has his own collection of nice shooters. He's a really good shot with his springers, especially that one well used underlever. Hope to see you in Mission again in the next few months!

Funny enough, the accuracy is coming from a Hammerli Pneuma in .22. Not an expensive PCP, but I just happened to get one that's a real shooter after a lot of work / tuning. It loves those 18.1gr JSBs! Shoots at 830 fps with them, and it's shocking how accurate it is when benchrested. This claim is based on some time out on a farm where we set up a 50 yard range measured out with laser range finders. We have these little 1/2" styrofoam balls that we hang up, and I kid you not that it was absolutely no challenge to hit them on every shot. I have also measured 1/2" groups of 5 at 50 yards. I use an Optisan Mamba 4-16x44 on the rifle, but usually only dial it in to 10X. Keep in mind that JSBs are basically match grade ammo, and if you have a barrel that suits them, they are deadly accurate.

Still, this is not the most accurate shooter out there by a fair margin. I've seen people pretty much one holing at 50 yards on a calm day with nicer rifles than mine, such as Air Arms S410s, HW100s, and others.

Planning to upgrade to an FX Streamline when they come in stock. Looks like a heck of a nice rifle for the money.

easyrider604, I've read that a lot of people have had the best success with H&Ns in their HW97s. Give those a shot!

Yup, it's going to be either H&N Field Targets or Barracudas.

Field Targets are normal to above average for weight, the Barracudas are heavy. I recommend trying out Barracudas for .177 and FTs for .22 to start.

No problem. You should check out the Mission field target shoot sometime.

The next one is scheduled for February 19th. It's always a good time, and quite peaceful. Anywhere from 5 to around 16 people will show up, and we do some plinking and field target practice. There are some real nice springers out there, and also some people who really know what they're talking about that may be able to help you out with your accuracy.
