Storing ammo in a vehicle

One of these steel Garrison lock boxes are $20-$25 at CT, safe and lockable. Should fit under a seat easy.
The chicken pluck foam was added by me...

 
Just to protect ass-ets I always lock my ammo storage containers! Always better to err on side of safety then have to bury your guilt!
 
Why not just a regular ammo can?
Throw a box of desiccant in with it if it'll be there for a while. You can get the locks for them if you want (welded to the front), or some other member posted how to put a padlock on it without it being able to be opened some time ago.
 
i keep loose shotgun shells in the door panel pocket, boxes of shotgun shells in the back door panels, i have a loose 223 round on the dash, and a bunch of 22 in a wood box under the seat.

ive been pulled over a few times and the LEO's have never said anything. I even once told him i had some guns in the back seat on my way to the range.
 
I have seen in pickups they cut the stiching on the sun visor near the rear view mirror and stick a clip in between the Vinyl. Cigarette pocket case. Cassette case 4 track , full bench seat covers have a Pocket along the frount . Pocket protectors for pens the wide ones , drill bit boxs dewalt and Milwaukee come to mind.:popCorn:

(g) small arms cartridges, propellant powder, percussion caps and black powder cartouches must be stored separately from one another (for example, on different shelves or separated by a wooden barrier);
(h) the storage unit must be Footnote *attended when it is unlocked;
(i) the storage unit must be kept clean, dry, organized and free of grit;
(j) any spill, leakage or other contamination in the storage unit must be cleaned up immediately;
(k) precautions that minimize the likelihood of fire in or near the storage unit must be taken; and
(l) a sign that displays the words “Danger — Fire Hazard/Risque d’incendie” in letters at least 10 cm high and that prohibits smoking using letters, or a symbol, at least 10 cm high must be posted on the storage unit in a clearly visible location.

For transporting small amounts of small arms cartridges as a user only the follow applies as per the explosives regulations.
Part 9 -186 ...When a small quantity of certain explosives
is to be shipped, the requirements of
section 190 apply.


Part 9 - 190.2 ... "However, the carrier and driver must
ensure that the explosives are transported
in a package or container that is designed,
constructed, filled, closed, secured and
maintained so that under normal conditions
of transport the likelihood of an ignition is
minimized."

Regarding storage,most users I know choose to store in their dwelling and only the following would apply;
Part 14 - 281. (1) ... When small arms cartridgesare stored in a dwelling, they must be
stored away from flammable substances
and sources of ignition. People not authorized
by the user must not be given unlimited
access to the cartridges.

NOTE: You would need to the consult the Firearms Act for firearms storage requirements if storing with ammunition.
