9mm Ammo suggestions

So I'm purchasing a CZ Shadow 2 in the next 2 weeks and I plan on getting into IPSC this year. This is my first 9mm so I'm looking for suggestions on what brands and grain I should be considering. Probably pickup 1000 rounds if I can.

Firearms outlet Canada has a commercial house brand reload that's marketed for the IPSC guys. I've shot 1000+ rounds of it so far with no issues, and it's very well priced. I believe it's 124gr

I've also had nothing but good experiences with American eagle 115, 124, and 147gr 9mm. I tend to avoid blazer anmo, as I found their .45acp to be really dirty in my vector.
 
If you're in Mission BC like your avatar says, it's a quick drive down the road to Maple Ridge.
Custom Reloading Service is your best bet.

Nothing will beat their prices as most business' will have to ship to you.
Most commercial 124 and 147 grain is good, I prefer 147 grain for less recoil. As jory mentioned, American Eagle 147 is good ammo, but more expensive.
IMO don't shoot crap steel cased ammo or anything made by Blazer. :)

+1 Price, quality and service can't be beat. They are one of the few, if not the only, licensed commercial ammo reloader in BC. Have bought remanufactured ammo and reloading componments from John since the 90's. Feel very fortunate to be near this source of ammo.
 
I shoot Blazer. They go bang, price is cheap, and they are dirty. I don't shoot IPSC or anything though. Decent enough for a fun day at the range.
 
Yes I'm in Mission. I recall coming across their site a few months ago, thanks for the reminder. I don't have time for reloading in my life for the time being, but I am a do-it-myself kind of person so I'm sure I'll reload in the future. Money isn't an issue so I'm not buying crap.

What I love about reloading 9mm is the unlimited supply of brass at the ranges, free for the picking.

Projectiles are not cheap. You wont save much if you buy commercial plated or cast bullets. So I cast my own too.

Everyone has his needs and desires.

^^^ I'd start with Federal AE 124gr to start and see how it works for you.
 
I started out buying all the 9mm, now I reload. I only reload in the winter, it a good pastime while staying inside from the cold days.
 
Blazer ammo with alu shell works great for me in handguns except for my Keltec S2000, which prefer brass shells

Sounds like my experience back in the 80's working drilling rigs in the Arctic;)

Two weeks in, one week out, weather be damned.
Some out's amounted to 2 days due weather issues (hardly worth the 2 days travel time involved).

As for ammo, I have been scooping up this stuff when available.

Spent 5 years in the Oilsands. About as Arctic as I'll let myself get. Working in SK now, not much warmer though.
