10mm, 9 round Wilson Combat 1911 Magazines

I was wondering if anybody ever tried running 9mm rounds using a 10mm 1911 magazine. A friend of mine brought me few of these magazines, however I don't have a 10mm 1911, but could use it for 9mm if it would work...

The 10mm has a longer OAL than the 9mm. Will the 10mm mag even fit in the magwell of a 9mm 1911?
Some .40S&W ( a shorter 10mm) mags will seat and function with 9mm but I've not heard the same for 10mm.

No idea if the magazines will fit the 9mm frame, gun I purchased is currently en route... Will try when gun is here and find out... I'm a bit hopefull as you have mentioned there are some 40 S&W mags capable of running 9mm rounds, of course not exactly sure the issue around OAL...

I've not heard of 1911 style .40 mags running 9mm reliably. Most are double stack designs.
Good luck! I'm thinking it's a no go personally, since the 10mm is longer than the .40

The mags will fit, but I doubt the gun will run worth a ####.

Seeing as you already have the mags, why not try one in your 9mm 1911 and see how it feeds?
