Anyone else waiting for the CSA VZ58 TACTICAL to come to Canada?

Sure, and I've hit 4'' ballons with a 30-30 with 165gr FP cast bullet and 8gr of bluedot at 200m, does that mean it has good ballistics?



I just don't understand the tunnel vision some gun owners have and why some red rifle owner need to pull the fudd attitude of telling you what you should own or how you should shoot your rifle. There's nothing wrong with a VZ58 in 223/5.56, it has its place.

Very true. And I'd say that's not a bad looking rifle for .223 non restricted. Add an ar mag adaptor and your set for bush shooting out to and past 200.

Very true. Especially with the cost of these rifles these days. But try to find a nr black rifle for around 1k that takes ar mags. .223 vz goes for $8-$900. Mag adaptor $75. Never worry about corrosive ammo.

Cz makes the rifles to the original military spec... after all, they built the military rifles. CSA monkeyed with the design - if you look at the internals, they're not QUITE the same. If you hear of a Vz58-pattern rifle with problems, I'll bet you that (unless it's one of the different types of CZ Gremlin, which is a problem directly caused by making a FA design work in semi) 9 times out of 10 it's a CSA. I've had CSAs with, let's see, a broken piston, loading problems, and ejection problems. All were fixed under warranty, but I'm convinced that they are simply not as reliable or well-built.

On the other hand, the CSAs are prettier - nicer looking finish! :)

My 2015 CSA is solid as a rock and I've run the snot out of it.

Never said there aren't perfectly functional examples, just that Cz are better. I still own two CSAs myself. I just think of Cz as the Colt Canada or Daniel Defence of the Vz world.... while CSA is more the Bushmaster or DPMS. Still OK for the most part, just not necessarily built to the same spec.

I never said anything about 223/5.56 being a bad rifle. Nor did I say 7.62 x39 had good ballistics
