Da Ar15 question

God speed, those pins are usually IN THERE!

But you can try, the two pins at the bottom of the FSB are tapered and need to be removed left to right (right being ejector-port side). Once you manage to get those out, wiggle the FSB loose and it'll remove forward off the barrel.

Plan B

Cut the front sight off the gas block using a dremel with a cutting disc, clean it up (being careful not to go too far), spray it with black high temp paint, hide it with a railed forend.

The pins are super-hardened. Use a Dremel tool to grind the pins flat to the front sight so that you don't end up peening them.
Then, alternate heating with a micro-torch and pounding with the very best punch you can get...Not a cheap punch!!!
It will need to be worked on for a long time. I got mine out about a minute before I was going to give up.
The pins are so hard, you will be able to reuse them.

get them moving with a starter punch, then switch to a pin punch.

#1 rule of using punches is the work must not rock or move. I use hockey pucks to stabilise the work on the bench

Any suggestions on a replacement gas block?

Instead of cutting it off and spending $50 on another gas block you could cut down the FSB into a low pro gas block. You can even cut the front half off completely to save more weight. It will be more secure than any replacement unless it too is pinned in place.
