M305 function test woes

Well guys I tried fitting the trigger on the original norc stock today and while my rifle passes a function test more frequently, it still fails a large portion of the time. What's more concerning is now the hammer will stay back for about a second before it flys forward while I have the trigger depressed. Perhaps this is a trigger issue? The trigger group fits in the stock perfectly now and I tried loosening the stock liner screws and retightening them with the reciever installed.

Any more ideas gentlemen? Anyone got a spare trigger group laying around that they wouldn't mind parting with?
 
Can you post some pictures?

I suspect you haven't taken off enough material yet, or it hasn't been taken off evenly and now the hammer or something else in the trigger group is binding up.

The fact that everything worked fine when the stock was taken out of the picture leads me to believe it's a stock fitment issue.

Did you buy this rifle new, or used? Did the wooden stock come with it or did you buy it separately? BTW, what makes the USGI wooden stock "fancy"

It could still be the fitment, I'm not quite ruling that out just yet. None of the marking compound wears off onto the stock anymore when the trigger group is placed into the stock.

I bought the rifle brand new and it functioned flawlessly for about 160 rounds. Function tested fine out of the box. I bought the wood stock separately but the rifle fails in it and the original plastic stock.

I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow. And the stock isn't really all that fancy, it's just miles nicer than the norc one.

Be careful about being over-zealous sanding down the stock. You need to get rid of just enough to make it work. If you take off too much, the action will be loose in the stock, which will affect accuracy.
Norc plastic stocks are relatively in-expensive. Hold off on touching the wooden one until you get the plastic one sorted out.

I only sanded it down in very small increments while constantly checking fitment as I went.

Yes the norc stock is my test mule. I'm not touching the wood stock until I get this sorted out
