getting a Vortex PST 1-4x24 for my incoming X95, but couldn't find any decent QD mount in Canada, something like 30mm American Defense Recon or GG&G, any idea where can I get one? Thanks!

I'm a big fan of the ADM mounts, currently using two of them.
As for where to get them, I know the site sponsored calgary shooting center had some in stock when I was in there last.
Also, red deer shooting center have a vast array of ADM mounts, I'd recommend checking out their website.

Another option I just thought of, you can order directly from ADM. it works out to be roughly the same with exchange and shipping. Plus it's made in America so you won't have to pay duty on it.

no. I checked both brownells and ADM can ship mounts to Canada. funny thing is that for the same vortex flip caps, while bandh can ship them to canada, brownell listed as ITAR. :)

Are mounts classified as ITAR , also looking for ADM High moint 30 mm

I believe that has to do with licensing. If the manufacturer has licensed their product with the US state department, it can be shipped across the border without proper exportation. Don't quote me on this, it was along time ago someone explained it to me but that's what my memory is recalling.

Find a Burris PEPR QD, I have four of them and have never had any issues. I can remove it and put it back on without loss of zero as well.
Vortex also makes one which is actually made by ADM if I recall correctly. A little more expensive than a PEPR but another solid mount.

forgot one thing. do you need the 20 MOA version when on AR, or just the standard height is fine?

20moa is not the height it's the cant or tilt which allows you to dial the elevation turret down for zero giving more dial up for long distance shooting and you definitely don't need that with a 1-4 optic.

Well, its more for magnifiers in my opinion. Even if they
Are fts style its still nice to take them off to drop weight
Without tools

Agreed, I have a twist mount for my magnifier which is nice.
I don't find many reasons to remove an optic once it's installed but for a few extra dollars why not get a QD mount for everything.
