Santa didn't bring me one for Christmas, but my birthday is coming around, so what's the deal with them.

For people that bought them, are you happy with them?

Were you able to get a copy of the recent issue of Caliber Magazine? It has a nice write up about it. Main (positive) aspect about it is how light it is compared to the IUR.

Yeah I gave it a read, but just wondering what actual owners thoughts are

It's worth it if you think it is. Personally, I don't think it's worth the money for what you get, but to others it would be.

If there is one thing I've learned, it's buy what makes you happy.

Have you considered one of the 'special forces' IUR's?

it's certainlhy not lightweight, and not to disparage the MRR's.... the IUR truly has a pedigree whereas I'm not sure the MRR does.

I'd consider an IUR for sure

At 1700 bucks for the SAS upper, I'd still need a BCG and charging handle plus a complete lower.

That'd be close to 3K?

I'm so sorry I didn't buy a blemished Iur when I had the chance

Im going to get one. I have the iur and colt lower. Love it. Cant wait to get a shorty. Itll be fun and im sure ill notice the pound difference.

Also seen the caliber mag artical. It seems like they liked it

The mrr does not... yet. I hope you realize that the mrr is the latest product from colt canada. While I wouldn't say the iur is obsolete they pretty much took everything they learned from that program and applied it to the new gun. The only feature it lacks is the grenade launcher lug.

The sf iur includes the craptastic ambi charging handle and the bcg. Which if that special pricing is still valid a great price for a spare complete bcg.

I had an IUR upper on a CC lower and replaced it with the MRR upper. A lot lighter and I had no use for all the rails on the IUR.

I think if I was planning on beating something I would use the IUR as it was VERY solid but for 99.999% of uses the MRR seems to be superior in my opinion.

Anyone know if the MRR 16" is actually 16", or is it 15.7"? Calibre mag says 15.7 so why is it advertised as 16 by gun stores

16 inch. Take the mm measurement. On cc website the le/mil c8 is 15.7 and the corresponding mm. The mrr civvie is a slightly longer on barrel specs in mm. Which i believe brings it to 16inch even. If you are really unsure measure beside another 16 inch carbine like a dd at a local store.

Thanks, my thought was that the A2 flash hider that's comes on the civilian is slightly longer compared to the military version which has C9 style. But thats only if they include the flash hider as part of barrel length
