Have jr carbines reliability improved over the years?

I was always interested in getting one. But reviews when they first came out were horrible for reliabilty. Has anyone had a good experience with them?
 
One thing they wouldn't answer that bothered me was their self labeled magazines that were designed and sold for use in a semi automatic rifle that had ten capacity and not pinned to five.

They weren't glock mags. They said JR Carbine. Bothered me because that lazy stuff is going to cost us all.

Other than being a filthy thing to shoot it was fun and cool.

I had mine for over 3 years. It is 9mm. Put 4000+ rounds. About half of it reloads BDX. With the reloads I would get 2-3 stove piping usually after 200 rounds (300-350 rounds per session). With the factory ammo AE and Blazer a had so far 100% reliability (approx 2000 rounds). Cleaning after each range trip.

Are you sure about that? The one I had came with a Glock mag. What earthly reason would a company build a carbine around Glock mags and then go to the not-inconsiderable expense of tooling up to make their own knock-off mags for it?

100% positive

They slid the bottom off the glock mag and had a plate that said JR Carbine that replaced it.
 
My 9mm functions just fine. A joy to own. :p

Then that's a completely different situation as Glock mags say "Glock" on the body right under the witness holes. You can change the baseplate to anything you want as long as it doesn't increase the capacity.
 
I bought one 1.5 years ago in 40 S&W. Had to get several parts and had to file down the extractor to get it to both feed and then eject properly. The main guy down there was great to deal with. A little frustrating having to fix a brand new gun to get it to run right but it seems to be good now. Don't shoot it much though and only ever put about 400 rounds through it.
 
hadnt shoot mine very much but so far so good with my 9mm I simply love it! pretty accurate too and a hell of a fun to shoot.

pimp it a little and you get a nice black rifle with 10 round mags and cheap to shoot!

Mine had no Glock name in it anywhere. I wasn't going to explain that to a judge.
