Q: Will 8mm Mauser stripper clips fit 30-06 and Norwegian Mausers

As the title says, will 30-06 fit on 8mm Mauser stripper clips, and will those clips fit the Norwegian Mausers?

I don't have any clips to test it.

If yes, I'll post a WTB for stripper clips.

All M98s unless they were specifically converted used the M98 style of stripper clip. Isreali Mausers use the same clips for 7.62 Nato and both 7.62 Nato and 30-06 have the same case head size (as well as 8mm Mauser and many other cartridges).

We use 30-06 blanks in K98's all the time. Loads from the stripper clips just fine, German, Turkish and god knows what else. I have about 30 of them. They all work fine.

I find that Swedish Mauser chargers work fine in my '03 Springfields and 1950 FN Mauser, whereas original Springfield chargers are scarce and flimsy.

This should come as no surprize, but the clips fit perfectly. I ordered 20 post-war mint condition stripper clips (German made). Very happy with them.

So Norwegian K98 owners, you now have your answer.

How can K98 clips not fit properly inside a Mauser guide?

There are 308/7.62 nato chargers that specific to M14 or fal mags. These will accept x51 and 8 mm but not fit k98

I see, thanks for that. I was just assuming that we were talking about K98 chargers and K98/M98 rifle variants.
