Enough for deer?

What did you punch holes in the board with your girlfriends stilleto heels?, then yes at arms distance a stiletto heel will kill a deer... but slowly and painfully and only if worn by a Russian model named Svetlana...

:onCrack:

My 458 wm leaves similar marks in wood that size. Don't think anyone would argue that it's not enough gun for deer. My 25/06 with interlock would rip about a 3" exit hole in spruce that big. 2 shots to cut thru a 2x4. It reliably kills deer and I've yet to recover a bullet from an animal with it

How 'bout we try and guess what the rifle and cartridge used for the frozen spruce holed wood?

SKS , x39 ???

Nah. OP was obviously looking for a "No waaaaay! Really??" type reaction. So I'm thinking .22lr. Maybe even .22 short or sub?

Although we'll never know now, cuz we've hurt his feeling by not pulling his finger when asked, so he's taken his ball and gone home.

Nice to see a consensus amongst members I respect......... no bravado in using "just enough"....... and a complete bs test, my .177 air gun would pass it.....

I shot a toaster once at an old bush landfill with my 1 3/8 oz copper plated #5 lead loads pushing 1365 fps. After watching that old stainless toaster fly about 3 ft then land and roll a further 10' I determined those loads were a bit stiff for grouse. You have to admit SB that was cutting edge ballistics testing?!
