MeatEater is a non-fiction outdoors hunting television series in the United States airing on Netflix starring Steven Rinella. The show first aired on January 1, 2012 and is produced by Zero Point Zero Production.

I'm hooked on this series. Rinella is followed via video through real hunting adventures throughout various regions of the U.S. and elsewhere. His hunting of various species and then preparation and cooking of the wild meat for consumption is intriguing. If you subscribe to Netflix check it out.... you'll thank me for the recommendation.

It is fantastic.

Yeah I really like this show. If you're into podcasts "the joe rogan experience" has a few episodes with rinella and they talk hunting...his books are pretty good too.

I binge watched this show back in the fall on Netflix and showed a couple episodes to a few friends who subsequently got hooked and now want to take up hunting in the next year so they "manly man" skills to pass on to their youngsters when they're of age. Steve and his buddy Ryan Callahan are pretty good ambassadors for the hobby.

Love the show, hate how NetFlix only has a few, not in the right seasons or order. There is over 11 seasons now

I have purchased every episode sense I seen it on OLN years ago.

Problem is, I can't find those episodes anymore. If anyone can help that would be great. One was he beaver trapped in BC to "gain" trust to moose hunt via a canoe that looks like mine and takes on much the same amount of water. Another was Prince of Wales Island with his brother when his Savage rifle miss fired (loved he actually showed that) during sitka hunt. Best is when he was at his camp and fishes, bear hunts and crabs, then lets his son try his first wild game on TV. There was more, but those stand out the most.

Yes I actually purchased them too in hopes to fund further episodes of his! These ones aren't listed anywhere!!

Cheers

That show makes me hungry. Very well done, thoughtful, intelligent and ethical hunting show. I think the fact that it's on Netflix is amazing, it shows the other side to what people think of when they hear the word "hunter".

Thanks for pointing this out. Just found it on netflix, im binge watching season 5 and 6 as thats all that was available. great show!

Good show, binge watched all that was available on netflix then found other means to watch the other seasons... Bought one of the books though, definitely a good read I would say. Helps further explain the tactics he employs while out on the hunts he's filming (some of us only ever get to do stand hunting, unlike you lucky people near massive crown lands/ or having your own little chunk of land as well)

Good series, actual hunting not the usual bollix on tv of taking a side by side out to a deer blind 10' up in the air to shoot fenced in animals over alfalfa or acorns sown specifically for that purpose. Showed it to my truck hunter buddy, he wasn't interested at first as he didn't always shoot an animal.

The missus got me 3 of his books for Christmas, his podcasts are good, can be a bit wordy but he's a highly intelligent and articulate orator and writer, and a good ambassador for hunting. Just look how he handles a question from a vegan at a book signing, complete respect.

I've got every episode. Ask a geek friend to help you find them. They are there.

Great show. I don't agree with all of his hunting practices but not everyone agrees with me either.

I've only seen the 2 seasons on Netflix, but I haven't seen anything disagreeable yet. It fact, he seems to be a more cautious and ethically careful hunter than many.

In fact, on the Bolivia episode, when the locals poisoned the water to catch the fish (as is their traditional way) he was visibly disturbed or uncomfortable.

But I haven't seen every episode.
