Chinese 7.62X39 chemical smell

Theres a chemical smell when you open a can of Chinese Surplus. Should it be something too worry about ?

Wait until you shoot it, I find the Chinese surplus has a different kind of smell. I am kind of used to it now and it has had no ill effects on me that I'm aware of, well, other than the extra toes I grew.

I usually notice some strange smells whenever I open cans of Chinese or Russian ammo. Sometimes it is a musty smell that probably comes
from being packed during a time with a high atmospheric moisture content. I wouldn't worry unless the ammo is leaking somehow.

Have you shot any other mil surp ammo ? They are sealed in a can for 50 plus years. Don't be sensitive about how it smells. It is about how much fun you can have running them. Just man up and Enjoy the ammo Lol

Chinese ammo contains chemicals? I, for one, am worried. Chemistry and ammunition shouldn't mix, IMHO. In my SKS I use only the finest organic 7.62x39, dew-picked and flown from Iraq, cleansed in the finest quality spring water, lightly killed, sealed in a succulent, Swiss, quintuple-smooth, treble-milk chocolate envelope, and lovingly frosted with glucose. Come to think of it, I often get a headache after eating certain kinds of ammo.

Chinese ammo contains chemicals? I, for one, am worried. Chemistry and ammunition shouldn't mix, IMHO. I use only organic ammo in my SKS.

Lol I am also concerned about the op's well being. Best solution is to send the ammo to me. I will cover shipping. Lol

put a fan for few days to let the smell go
