any love for these rifles, I am looking for one for my uncle and he seems to think browning is the best there is but what you expect from someone who has used a lee enfield all his life, they seem to be a well made rifle but why some expensive
 
I have had two, the first was a 30.06 which I gave to one of my sons. Only reason I gave it to him rather than keeping it was because I had found one chambered in 280 Rem, which is what I had wanted in the first place. Both are great shooters and fit me well. The quality is there and in my opinion worth paying for. Some don't like the magazine arrangement but I do. You pays your money and takes your choice.
 
Left hand Abolt II Stainless Stalker in 280 here. Had it for over 10 years. It is my go to rifle for nearly everything. Seen some very nasty weather with it and it has been flawless. Accurate too. Yes, the trigger is complicated, but keep it clean and it should function fine for years.
 
The A-bolt II is one of my favorite off the shelf rifles. Browning takes extra care to give each rifle an excellent fit and finish. That is sorely lacking in todays rifles. I have owned several and they all were good guns.
 
I have two as well. I like the mag system, the 60 degree bolt throw, the trigger is easy to adjust and I like the balance. Yes the trigger & trigger guard is pot metal & I have actually seen one brake in two. What I don't like about browning is their after market service but for the most part I can live with that.
 
Excellent Rifle,... I have a A-Bolt II Medallion BOSS in 30-06 that I bought 16 years ago and it is still my favorite rifle, laser beam accurate, ..... fit, finish, and function are flawless...I have bought and sold quite a few rifles, but I will never part with this one.
 
I have 2 A bolts and three x bolts. They are all shooters and beyond that important feature is their quality is readily apparent. For me, I appreciate quality, and the money paid is well worth it. The only thing i would say further is that I prefer the x bolt.

The trigger, the trigger frame assembly, the trigger guard & the bottom metal that holds the mag is all pot metal on the stainless models. The A bolts that are not stainless may have less pot metal. Not sure.

Brownings and Tikkas both have one big virtue: they exist. If you want a hunk-of-junk Ruger American or an Axis, those are around, but M77s, Model 70s etc have all vanished. Tikkas and Xbolts are friggin' everywhere.
 
Browning A-Bolt...and A-Bolt II are my fav rifles !!

We have them in 7mmRM, 300WSM -Boss, 270 Win-Boss, 243, 308....all stainless Stalkers !
Accuracy is undeniable, comfort and fit is there in all calibers....and never losing a mag is a bonus!
