Hi guys. I realize each rifle is an entity onto itself. However... I am wondering what is working in your reloading efforts for your R.E.M. 223 Tactical?

Just recently picked one up and am wondering where to start. Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks fellas. Looks like I'll have to try to find some heavier bullets. To date I have been using 40, 50 and 55 hrs as well as WC 735, BM, H322 and LT35 cause that's what I have. Haven't seen any heavier bullets around here so will have to hunt some up.

Best I can do is around the 1" mark at 100 maybe slightly less. 3 shot groups. Still in the original stock as I would rather not swap it out at this time.

What are your groups like? Thanks again.

Thats a great start! After some load development mine can get 5 in a ragged hole at 100. Mine has also seen several upgrades since new tho.

I was using a over max load of varget and have got good results from cfe 223 also may go back to varget as I was hoping to throw loads and not wiegh them all but was not quite accurate enough mine is the 26" barrel xcr 1-9 twist.

Mine loves 55grain vmax over 25 grains of varget. And hates anything over 69 grains. Our duty ammo I tried, 77 grain hp. About 3 inches at 100 yards.

69 grain SMK loaded 0.010" off the lands with 24.3 grains of Varget. R-P brass, CCI primers gives me just over 2900fps and sub 0.5MOA. I had one group just under 0.4" @ 100m. My primers started to flatten out at 25 grains Check the hodgdon website for free load data if you are using IMR, Hodgdon or Winchester powders.

Had good luck with Hornady 55 gr spsx bullets as well.

Cheers
