What are the best headlight or flashlight you've used & owned? Wanting to get a good set of headlights before springs approaches.

I have 2 energizer brand, they came in a 2 pack, bought them to do some night fishing over 15 yrs ago. They've been through hell and back and still work fine...only paid 20$ for the pair.

Nightstick have been my favourite. Expensive but reliable. The Energizer ones are probably the most economical though. Regardless of how good they are, never be without two of them. If the batteries die or it quits working for some reason, you will be in big trouble if you can't see. Headlamps are a must in my books.

I've got a couple petzl headlamps and Fenix flashlights. No complaints and they are far more reliable than most of the cheap ones I've purchased.

I bought a thru-nite from amazon after seeing a couple reviews on you tube. First one I got flickered a bit so I sent it back and got a new one no questions asked. So far no issues with the second one. It has 5 brightness settings and has worked well for me only downside is that it uses the CR123 batteries but I have two other lights using them so I have lots on hand.

friend of mine got three off the internet
rechargeable it has a spot light two flood lights or both can spot and flood lights can be used at the same time also has a red light in the back for a tail light
this light is incredible it shines up better then my quad lights do
its awesome for early morning or late evening start up time for equipment (heavy equipment operators)
it will light up the lease
it lights up the goose set up completely it is really one light I don't regret purchasing
the name on it is
BORUIT RJ3000
I recommend this light

Petzl for headlamp
Fenix for flashlight (forgot which model I believe PD35, the one close to 1000 lumens)
Streamlight TLR1 HL for gun lights

Streamlight 4AA with single LED

Petzl Tikka +

Both are awesome lights with excellent battery life and lots of lumens. Streamlight has lifetime warranty and I think Petzl might also.

I had one of those for about the same time span. Just last year it quit. I tried fixing it but no luck. Was heart broken. Lol. But my kids bought me a Petzl for Father's Day and it's amazing. New fave.

I just picked up a finix TK20R it throws some serious light and has all kinds of add ons and filters you can get for it as well as it being rechargeable and waterproof, it is a bit pricy but i think it will last me many years. warriors and wonders has them instock.

Surefire minimus... Awesome headlamp.

Fenix PD35... great flashlight.

Surefire E2D defender..... Awesome flashlight.

I have hundreds, if not thousands of hours under headlamp, using the tikka -TacTikka, and the SF minimus. But the CR123 are provided through work... so .... not the best option unless you want to spend the $$$ on batteries.

for flashlights, the PD35 is very bright, and nice to carry... but the E2D defender is an absolute tank... it is my carry flashlight if I am traveling.

Are we talking tough?
My candidate is a four cell Maglite.
While moving out of the way of a vehicle travelling in excess of 80 in a 60 zone, the light was launched at the side of the vehicle.
The next time it was seen it was rolling off the trunk lid and then rolling down the pavement . . . still on.
The light was retrieved but it had a number of scars on it that had to be filed off as some were very sharp.
The light entered the interior of the vehicle via the rear driver's side passenger window like a "rocket" leaving a hole the side of the head, and exited via the rear window "full dimension".
It still works . . . much like Timex . . . it took a lickin' but kept on ticken'!!! Of course there is more to the story . . . but that is where this chapter on my tough light ends!
