Where can I find Flint?

I bought mine from Track Of The Wolf. Mailed right to my door without any issue.
They don't last forever so I'd suggest that even if you only shoot occasionally that you buy at LEAST a half dozen. And likely better to pick up 10 at a time.

Agreed. When I was big into muzzle-loading, I always bought english flint from dixie gun works.
Along with a lot of other stuff...

My last batch I got from Track of the Wolf, but I do know that Loyalist Arms out east sells chert pieces that can be used in a flintlock.

If you want real nice flints Google "will Lord" he's the son of John Lord who is a fantastic flintknappers in England. I think Will is still producing gun flints of the best black Brandon Flint, it's marvellous stuff that sparks like nobodies business.

Locally, flint selection at Cabelas is very poor and the prices are outrageous.
TofW has a wonderful selection of proper English flints that are expertly knapped, and the prices are good.
You might also look at the sawn cut flints. Very uniform and they seem to work well.

Will Lord is still going strong! My wife went on a couple of his courses in 2015 and has a fine English longbow made by him. Shame we aren't a bit closer as black Brandon flint is kicking around everywhere here-there is always piles of it lying around in the fields.

I've always ordered a dozen or so anytime I make an order from Track of the Wolf and been very satisfied.
If I were to order some flint by itself I would probably try the chert from Loyalist Arms.

I spent a couple days with John Lord flint knapping and it was fantastic. Flint is nonexistent in western Canada.

Yeah, when they have flints in stock, never hesitate to buy from them. I have used many of their Texas chert, French amber and English black. Top notch.
