I got the spam can open a couple inches (it's an ordeal as the tool supplied is terrible, unless I'm missing a trick to it), enough to get a few rounds out...

Is this the right ammo?

isn't it like a big oyster can ? big key unwind the thing around the middle to open the can?

Reading glasses are now on and you are correct. I was having a tough time with the 'big can opener' tool that I had from my Russian spam cans. I guess it pays to put those babies on every once and a while.

That is definitely the right ammo. I've run it in everything from M305s, XCRs, and RFBs. Runs like a hot damn and is surprisingly clean for what it is.

yep thats bimetal jacket lead core noncorrosive copper washed steel case norinco 308 147gr FMJBT ammo. great surplus ammo. :)

Used yesterday, 100% in a Savage scout bolt gun
And some Hirtenberger which is a lot more then $.37 a round for the norinco

Not about Norinco 308 ammo, but I use Hirtenberger 7.62x51 Austria surplus ammo. Its brass cased and not that more expansive than Norinco's one.

Hirtenberger is $599.00 for 720rds which makes it $0.83ea. If so that's a far ways from $0.37 ea.
Of course there is a substantial discount sale on it at the moment.
