375 CheyTac fires a 350gr bullet at 3100 fps!![]()
What's the MV for a 270gr bullet?
Seems like alot of people are building Taylors lately... I have a spare 300 or two kicking around aswell. Mabey I will do one too! Already have a 404 Jeffery which is plenty, and a 375 Ruger- A notch down from the H&H King!![]()

I went through this same debate years ago and decided the 375 was the way to go.
- The 375 offers is a lot more flexible for use in Canada.
- Proper bullets can be found for deer sized game all the way up to heavy game and are a lot easier on the pocket to boot.
- Recoil is easy in a rifle that doesn't have to weigh a lot.
Hey BB........be different and go with a 375-300WM. Great cartridge and has quite an edge on the CT, but runs through the same action. 375 bore cartridges are a little better all around for NA game, I like the 416s as well but I'd have to say the 375 beats it out for an all around cartridge.
Totally agree after using the 375 caliber in several chamberings, the H&H, a number of 375 Rugers and also a wildcat 375 / 06 Imp.
And as said recoil is easily handled in all.
However, if health permits I would dearly love to take my 416 Taylor hunting, superbly accurate and despite being a tad heavy it is a comfortable rifle to shoot with either 350 or 400 gr. loads.
Then there is my 404 Jeffery...... decisions, decisions.....

.I agree ....... For myself buying a 375Ruger would have been waaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than going the custom 375CT route. The practical choice is one of the Ruger cartridges,
