Has anyone replaced the stock forend tube assembly that comes on their shotgun with the remmington factory forend?. I was wondering if the stock slide assembly would fit the slots in the actions bar or if i needed to buy a new slide assembly/bolt as well.

It should fit. I found the Grizzly forend tube assembly was smoother once I sanded a bit. The 870 forend assembly was a bit tight. I've had a few and I found that they all WILL work, but you may need a bit of polishing to make it fit smoothly. The Grizzly is a replica of the 870, so parts will be interchangeable.

It was a tight fit, but it fit. There was enough flex in the wood to get it on, and I'm actually glad it was a tight fit, because I know it won't loosen over time.

The wood is from an 80's era 870 "Security Express" that someone bought surplus off of Brinks and was doing a full tactical plastic job on it, so I got the wood for next to nothing. It was badly beaten up from riding around in a dash clamp for 30+ years, so I stripped it and refinished with Tung Oil.

Your mileage may vary. Tolerances are a bit wide on the Grizzlies, so the outside diameter of the forend action tube might be slighter wider, or slightly narrower, than the one I got. In general, though, everyone I know who has tried, has been able to make it work, with varying degrees of elbow grease.

Guys .... he asked about the "forend tube assembly" .... not the forend.

Indeed the Grizzly specs are a wide tolerance. So far the items I've changed have eventually worked.

Can't answer your specific question however. I'd want to confirm that one before laying out any money for parts. Could be a can of worms.

Thanks guys, the reason I asked was because a friend of mine has a spare forend assembly with magpul furniture that he wants to part with. I've had no issues with the stock forend and its quite smooth from use so instead of getting a remmington tube to fit I guess ill just take of the moe forend and fit it to the stock tube.

Buy it. They're mad expensive to buy new. I had one shipped from Brownells cause the cheapest i could find in Canada was 90 bucks and a 2 week wait. My action is super smooth with the brand new Remington forend assembly and magpul forend. DA bolt fits. DA tube nut does not fit the REM assembly threads so make sure that's included.

Also realize that the OEM DA mag cap will not fit in conjunction with a Magpul forend when using a 12.5" barrel.
A Remington or Dlask mag cap with NO sling plate will be needed.

"DA tube nut does not fit the REM assembly threads"

I tell ya, the more I mess with these chinese SG's and find how much isn't a direct swap... the more I wish I didn't bother.
