BRNO combo's and doubles

Went and dug out my Brno literature and found 1986 Progotrade pamphlet for BRNO Super Express, barrels are dovetail joined at chambers and barrels soldered there length with a rib.
Kersten-type breach cross bolt
Coil spring sidekicks mounted on the inside of side plates.
Selective automatic ejectors.
Etched side plates.
Integral dovetail for scopemounts, and factory aligned front sight and folding rear sight.
Dense European walnut stock with hand cut checkering.
Rubber recoil pad.
The BRNO Super Express are equipped double adj. Set triggers.
BRNO Super Express 375 H& H O/U barrels are 600mm/23-1/2".
Overall length 1020mm/40".
Selective Ejectors.
Factory offers 6 grades of elaborate hand engraving.

If this sight was smart I could post pictures of pamphlet from phone, SORRY!
.
Last time I saw one come up for sale was a few years ago here in 458WM, $3500 with minimal engraving, and that was a giveaway price!
Hope this helps

"Kersten-type breach cross bolt".... absolutely BUT remarkable in that is just the locking system that is integral (and formed with) the top barrel. The bottom barrel has been formed with its own integral locking system consisting of "two large integral lugs" that are ALSO engaged when the action is locked up. .... combined with the fact that the two barrels are dovetailed together.... (another reason why it doesnt need to rely on the strength of the soldered side strips) ... makes it is a VERY strong action.

As there seems to be some BRNO knowledge here, I have a ZH203 o/u 12 gauge. Does anybody know if it could be made into a combo gun if I can get a barrel set?

They can be done, but from my understanding they may involve some fitting. That fitting may range from easy to not likely. I do believe they are not plug in - plug out as with many modular systems of today. I do have a ZH series shotgun with a spare set of combo bbls and they are serial numbered the same; and they do interchange on the same frame, but I can not fit those bbls on other ZH's of mine. Close but no cigar.

Fwiw.. info at that link suggests all barrel combinations are interchangeable on the 303 without special fitting. Also a nice schematic. IDK about interchangeability as I have never owned a ZH. But they seem very practical.

This might help for the 304. I just sold a month ago, two near mint Brno 504' in 12 Gu by 222 Rem., for 950$ each Other than caliber, the same gun. Don't know about the 375. Cheers, Bryan

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeahhhh-butttttt..............owwwzs thuh trigger?....................:pirate:

double set triggers.......lets just say so light that you only set the one you want to shoot, or I think the recoil will fire the second shot for you

Yes..a very nice 'Super' they have always impressed me! Btw does the foresight sit in a dovetail secured by a plunger button to permit quick/easy elevation adjustment??

I thought you said it had the factory Zeiss scope as well as the mount? ...that's a very novel way of attaching 1 inch rings to a rail base setup for a Zeiss (Jena)

I could only go off the info I got over the phone until the stork arrived..........

I think you would find they are not double set triggers, but the front trigger can be set by pushing it forward. Each trigger engages one of the bbls.

yeah it's my poor english......still learning it

the are both set triggers....as in my use of the double set triggers....my italian combo only had a set trigger on the rifle barrel and not the shotgun, this one has set triggers for both barrels....please deport me

Any major differences between the 2??? nothing in the write up about set triggers

Many people have no idea of the set ability of some of these triggers. I have used the set on my 500 series 9.3x74 to shoot to 250 yds on game very easily. The ZH MAYBE has the ability to pull the rear trigger twice... once for each bbl. I am not as familiar with those series.
They are very interesting rifles.
Please do not dry fire them without a dummy round for that purpose. If you break a firing pin, they are hard to find.
