Remington RP9

I just picked up the latest Guns&ammo mag and the cover shows the new Remington RP9. It is a poly frame striker fired 9mm. it has a 4.25 barrel and apparently the trigger is pretty nice as it is. The mags also hold 18 rounds is usa. There is a lenghty article on it. It is also price under 600usd. Hopefully we can get these in soon. I am shopping around for a new 9mm! anybody else seen this?

Will be interesting to see if Remington learned anything from the R51 fiasco.

Have never had much faith in Remington products. Why the 700 bolt is so popular is a mystery to me.

This. There was the Glock with its now signature blocky look and everything since then just seems like a slicked up version of that.

I do quite like the look of the S&W M&P's and the HK SFP9, but I agree with your sentiment.

This particular gun looks odd to me because Remington's logos look weird on anything resembling a modern design. In my humble opinion they should left Para as their handgun brand, Bushmaster for their black rifles and Rem for their signature guns, but I digress. Look forward to seeing them in person, and hearing about how they shoot.

I have handled a 3D printed version. While it cannot replicate the real thing for weight and function I can tell you the feel was similar to the HK P30/SFP series. It felt good from the limited opportunity I had.
We do have the real thing on order and should see them before too long. No price or ETA yet. We will be posting details on our page when we have complete details.

Also, I hate to say this... but it is probably going to suck.

Remington is dubious at best, and they are building a budget 9mm...

It is going to be an M&P9... but even worse. Just my guess

Nice to have another option on the market. We'll soon know about the suck factor, I guess. Sure has a huge beavertail for a hammerless gun!
I'm more looking forward to the CZ P-10..... Aaaaand it looks like a Glock!

Believe me, when the Glock first came out in the 80s, it was considered supremely ugly when everything else was metal and elegant. We just got used to it after 35 years!
There definitely are improvements to features and looks of the copy cat guns now but there's only so much you can do with plastic! LOL!

watch the review, less than stellar performance, just a larger R51.

Not super awesome.
A few other reviews on youtube have reported similar problems and that its very large and awkwardly balanced
Seems the 9mm will share the same slide as the .45 to cut down on costs
