Alfa-Proj 9mm, what's the diff between the 2 cylinder length version?

I see some Alfa-Proj 9mm version has a full size cylinder and there are some other with a slightly shorter cylinder with a slightly longer barrel touching the cylinder. Both said they are for 9mm Luger. Is there any diff or they are just the same thing but 2 diff model made? Any advantage of one over the other (may be the shorter cylinder is a bit lighter in weight... but not much)?

Or some of the online store has lazy people posting wrong picture as they all should be short cylinder for 9mm Luger?

The differences are,
-shorter overall length with the barrel going back through the frame towards the shorter cylinder.
-less of a jump for the bullet before it enters the rifling.
-different look
-probably a hair lighter as you suggest

I looked at some Alfa Project websites and came up with only short cylinder versions. But in terms of gun function, weight, reliability and accuracy, there shouldn't be a discernable difference between a short 9mm cylinder and a long "standard" cylinder. The short cylinder is solid, while the longer cylinder is fluted, so their overall weights could be the same or close.

I like the look of the smooth cylinder vs a fluted one, but that's just a personal preference.

Good point on the flutes easy, probably a wash on weight difference.
The shorter length of the barrel would shift the center of balance back a hair.

Basically the short cylinder version should handle like a 4 inch revolver.

Shorter cylinder makes a shorter overall gun so quicker handling in some people's thinking.
It also puts the gap more over your fingers...so long as it remains in time all is well.
If it gets out of time let me know how much of a difference the quicker handling made.

If it gets out of time, the firing pin will not hit Center on the primer, so may not fire, hopefully��

Good point on being aware of the blast area with the shorter cylinder, and it's smart with all revolvers, thumbs forward is for semi auto's and doesn't feel great on a revolver any ways..... I cross my support hand's thumb over and behind my strong hands thumb for a nice grip and the support thumb is perfectly placed to reach up and #### the hammer.

Shooting like that no part of your hand is forward of the trigger finger.
