Hi Gentlemen

I just received a beautiful mini 14 Target with a pistil grip stock. I also got some 75 Grain Hornady bullets that I would like to load for it. Has anyone tried these heavy bullets or any load suggestions for accurate .223 shooting.

Thanks in advance

Don't listen to the haters like the above post. Sure it's not like a bolt gun for accuraccy but i have no problems getting 1.25 inch groups at 100 yard's with minor brass work and handloads. By the way the 5 shot group can be sent off in about 6 seconds. Be tough to get that out of a bolt gun. It's fun takes some tinkering. Don't let the narrow minds get you down. Just shows they are less adventurous

A fellow at the range was nice enough to let me shoot his mini target. With 55grn pmc I was actually very surprised with the accuracy. Proper load development could produce very impressive results.

Good luck !! They don't make the target model any more as nobody could hit the target with them. Very sloppy bolt to receiver fit and lucky if it will shoot 2MOA with it. The tuner looked good but it never helped. Most guys are trading them on here as they can't sell them, do a search ,there are 20 on here right now.......never a good sign. Bet you be on here trading it within the year....lmao

Really? You have experience or just flapping?

Mine shoots just fine.

o really? mine shoots right at moa for 10 shots. quite consistently. I won the last wholesale sports precision rifle match the Winnipeg store ever put on shooting it. not a single ar ever beat that mini in competition........ now yes mine is for sale as we speak but simply cause I like bolt guns better. the brass does not melt down in the snow when rabbit hunting with a bolt.

I shoot 55 gr blitzkings in mine.

I love my target model. I have run many different loads with it to try and tighten it up more. I get 1-4 inch groups at 100. Depends on the ammo I load. But I have not shot anything below a 60 grain Bullet. I have went up higher. According to the hornady book though there is one that you cannot load to mag length. It is written in the first page overview. If you need to know for certain let me know and I can look when I get home.
I have been loading with Varget and H335. I also shoot Hornady, Sierra and have tried some others but just stick to those now.

Back on topic Ive been shooting Remington 62 gr CTHP for coyote and have had good success.

For reloading I am looking at the 60 gr range using H4895 because that's what I have, will do that as soon as the snow melts.
300 yards with the 62 gr.

That low shot, was tat the first from a cold bore? Mine likes to shoot low just a bit on the first shot from a cold barrel. Never could figure it out.
