375 winchester over bait

A cougar makes a bear look like an amateur in the killing dept. and nobody head shoots them for the same reasons. To each their own . I prefer to shoot bears through both shoulders to take the fight out of them. Have never had the opportunity to run them with dogs. Large bears can scoot up a 75ft + spruce so far they are near impossible to see for the branches.RE#7 is a great powder for the .375 Win....Harold

I've never had any worry with the .375 Win on moose and black bear when using the 250 gr. factory load back in the early 80's. Inside150 yds., that load never failed for me. The factory 200 gr. loads I found had a habit of shedding their jackets on good sized deer so I stuck with the 250's for big critters until the supply dried up.

Resized ,hardcast 255 gr. 38-55 bullets work very well in the .375 Win and the .375" 265 gr. LRNFP GC offered by Bullet Barn is a stellar performer that penetrates very well on bigger stuff at velocities from 1500-1800 fps.

For the folks that shoot from a stand or stalk through the bush, the oft maligned .375 Win is just the ticket fer fridge fillin'.:)

That's the trouble with the 30-06. It will do anything we need it to do as well, or better than all these oddball chamberings we fuss over and at a lot less cost.

My 7x57 , 280 & 35Whelen could all be replaced with a '06 and I would never miss a beat.

30-06 won't fit in a Winchester 94 or Marlin 336. Doesn't fit well in a scabbard.
