Beretta 92F "D" Spring

gunsmiths may have it.
I bought mine, as well as all my 92FS spare parts, from Brownell's in the US. No trouble buying from them, except for annoyingly high shipping fee.

It's always funny (and annoying) when a get a box big enough to hold a six pack, containing a part the size of your finger or smaller.

Ok thanks, did it make a big difference in DA pull?

I got the reduced power version. Very minor difference IMHO. You'll need to do some filing work on the stock plastic trigger to fit the D spring unless you upgrade to one of the steel triggers at the same time

High shipping fee from Brownells? Did you ask for USPS first class as I have never paid more than about $10 for any order from therm.

Say what? Why would you have to file the trigger to fit the D spring? You remove the grips, remove the piece with the lanyard loop and swap the spring, done, doesnt matter if it has a metal or steel trigger as your not touching that part of the gun anyway. BTW the D spring is 16lb, Wolf has 13's and Wilson has 12's available but use of federal primers is recommended for reliable ignition.

I've read that the d spring doesn't fit the plastic trigger as well?

It's actually for a Girsan Regard. I just sourced a Wolff 18lb hammer spring and some other springs on ebay for $20 shipped. So I bought those instead. Thanks

Your probably not gonna notice much difference with an 18 LB, stock is about 20 lb, D spring is 16 lb.

Dont believe everything you read, the D spring doesnt go anywhere near the trigger which makes the type of trigger irrevelant, It goes up inside the butt of the gun under the spring cap ( lanyard loop) and is what applies the pressure to the hammer aka hammer spring. Also the D spring gets its name because it was the stock spring Beretta used the the 92's that were Double action only (D models) which BTW also came with plastic triggers.

Apologies, I'm referring to the wrong spring as the "D" spring. The spring I was thinking of was the Wolff Trigger Conversion

This unit was developed for Federal Law Enforcement agencies and produces a smoother trigger pull and improved trigger staging. This replacement coil spring trigger return unit eliminates trigger spring breakage and requires no modification to the gun. Please note that these units will not function in the latest Beretta 92 or 96 pistols with polymer triggers.

Sorry for the confusion.

How did you like it, I tried them but didnt like the feel, It felt gritty to me, not as smooth as the original, Wilson makes a chrome silicon trigger spring, same as original but less chance of breakage although I have never broken an original anyway. There used to be some factory type reduced power trigger spring available but problem is they also reduce the reset.

I was hesitant to try it because the reviews said it made the trigger feel gritty as well.

I ordered the Wilson Combat short reach trigger and the Wilson Combat Custom-Tune Spring Kit Beretta 92F/G because those did have good reviews, so I hope I didn't waste my money, lol!

This is my second 92FS. I sold my first one a few years ago because I didn't like the trigger compared to my 1911, and my 1911 grouped better. But a deal came up on a 92FS and I'd been watching way too much Die Hard over the Christmas holidays so I ended up buying another, lol!

Whoops, my bad. I was also referring to the Wolff trigger spring as well.

That cleared up, yes, the "D" mainspring does reduce the DA a bit, maybe 1/2lb give or take.

Get the short reach trigger as well made alot of diff
i got the full rod , d spring trigger spring and short reach trigger
feels like a different gun huge improvement

I put one in my Inox 92 Vertec and didn't like it at all; SA pull went up by almost a full pound so it's back to the original mouse trap spring now, along with the D hammer spring.

Damn things aren't really cheap either... :(

Ohhhh....that's not what I want to hear, lol!

I want to lighten the trigger pull for single action......
.....so no to the d spring in my 92FS?

I believe he was talking about the trigger conversion unit not the D spring. The D spring will reduce the DA pull quite a bit and the SA a little as it is a 16lb spring as compared to the factory 20lb, personally I prefer the 12lb or 13lb available from Wilson and Wolf. Also cyl and slide make a sear that is supposed to noticeably lighten the SA pull, I have one on order from a canadian dealer and will post results once I get my hands on it, hopefully in the next week or two.
