Hi everybody!

How should I pay for a M14 1960 In good condition... 8.5 or 9/10. (Incredible condition...)

Any idea how much it could value???

Thank you in advance

Not trying to be a wet blanket but a 1960 USGI M14...Is this a "Converted Auto" or CA? This makes it Prohibited:mad:

You will have to have the correct class of license for that...12.5, if I remember correctly. If it is a CA it can't be taken to the range or out of the house.

Edit: 12.3 not 12.5

if you do not have the right license, then you are buying it as a parts kit.

Cash, cheque, or emt would seem like reasonable ways to pay.

It is either a 12.2 (full auto and unlikely) or a 12.3 (converted auto and selector switch welded to the semi auto position). It's registration card will have all the information. You will have to have a 12.2 or 12.3 on your RPAL to purchase it. It's value is in the parts as it is deemed prohibited and a very small market is the result.

And what is the différence ??? Converted Auto" or CA?

FA is full auto.
CA is converted from full auto capability to semi auto only.

The RCMP has specific guidelines for their idea of converting. It is possible that the firearm will have to be verified that it meets current standards. If it is not up to their specifications it will have to be brought up to the new standards before it can be transferred. This has to be done by a business that is recognized by the RCMP.

Ok. But how can we see it??? I can ask him to open it and take photos.

The selector switch will show welding on the outside and inside. It may have some grinding as well to make the welds not as noticeable. As mentioned by others, if you do not have the proper 12.X endorsement on your RPAL, you will not legally be allowed to purchase the rifle. There is no way possible to get those on your license if not there now.

The model number is all that matters. If it says m14 then you are sol. If m1a you are good. If it is CA then torch the receiver and it's worth $950

The last 12.3 converted auto that I saw hit the market here locally, sold to a museum for $2100. It was a TRW M14 E2 with all the correct bit and pieces. It would have been rated at an NRA 80%, IMHO.

The current value to someone with the correct license, or a museum would be $1300-$1500.

As I stated above.....

The idea of a parts kit never entered my mind.... in truth it should have!

Unfortunately, about 9-12 months ago the "parts kit" would have been worth quite a bit more than it is now. A previous poster said $950, and I would have to agree. No one will pay more than Wolverines asking price for a parts kit.

Ok. I remember it is wrote M14 build for US Army. Or something like that. I will advise him he sould not take any chance.

If he remove th receiver the rest of the parts can be sold legaly???

Thank you again

Yes that is correct. The receiver is the only regulated item. The parts are not controlled.

As mentioned the parts are legal but only the receiver is evil. A saw, torch, etc to cut the receiver should be acceptable, just leave the front attached to the barrel should you go that route
