Does anyone load 8x57 with IMR4350 powder in a 196gr bullet?

All my books either only go up to 170grain, or it doesn't list 4350 for 196gr bullet.

I prefer to stick to IMR4350 because I have an endless free supply of powder available to me.

Nosler # 6
IMR 4350 200 gr bullit.
From 48 to 52 gr

Speer # 6
IMR 4350 200 gr bullet
From 49 to 53 gr

Lyman 49th edition
IMR 4350 220 gr bullet
From 39.5 to 45 gr
Hope this helps

Yup. Works good. Nosler lists 200 grain bullet 48gn IMR 4350 for 2468 and max 52gn for 2698. In reality 50 grains pretty much fills the case. I shoot 200 accubonds and 50 grains and they are not hot at all but shoot well. But...If you are looking to push it hard 4350 wont be the best choice.

I have used IMR 4350 behind 200 gr Nosler ballistic tips but I found that IMR 4064 (48 grains) works really well in my Brno 21. It is a light rifle so it gives a stout punch to my shoulder.
No worse than S+B factory 196 gr stuff. It is loaded pretty hot.

I reload the 8mm with 4150 and as was stated above start load is 48 and max is 52, I personally load 49.5 to 50 in mine and it works well

Thanks guys.

I'm ok with 2400-ish fps as long as I can get a bit of accuracy.

I'm going to make loads for 3 Yugo M48s as close to original 196gr. Not sure if I want to go with boat tail or flat base yet? Might have to special order the bullets, just not too much in the local stores in Edmonton for .323 bullets.

52 gr with a 200gr would be a tad over 2400.

A flat base bullet would be the better bet.

I've heard that from another guy who shoots K98s, says they like a flat base bullet, suggests that the M48 should be the same. I haven't made that round yet so I don't know?

I have used it and it works just fine. No where near max pressures. I use around 44 grains of that.

My rifle (Yugo M48) seems to prefer 4064 but 4350 works just ducky too.

I have only run 198grn fmj so far.
