Admittedly by looks it looks closer to the original massada concept than the actual xm8 but the gas block(or what we can see of it) looks xm8 like. I could be wrong.
As for the cost I suspect it costs less because it's set up to be inherently more modular than the hk416. As a result system cost would be lower. I don't think this will give up anything to the 416 for actual performance. To be honest I expect it to perform better still than the 416.
Why was the 243 prohib? Why is the g36 non res or res? There is no rhyme or reason to why they decide what they decide.
As for this. Time will tell. Also depending who is running the country at that point.

I will stick with HK416 or AR15. Simply because all these side mounting charging handles will interfere with laser and light switches+wire setup.
As retarded as the HKG36's ambi handle and its crazy sight over bore distance, at least you can put things on the hand guard and there is no worry about this issue.
Either do it like SCAR, X95 or AR. Don't do this ACR thing with the charging handle.

Not if you wrap it the other way or switch the charging handle to the other side. That's assuming you like to set all the pressure switches in one spot.
The problem is double moot for me since I don't run pressure switches already. But can't go wrong with a 416 or quality ar so I can't blame you for that choice.
