JC Barrels

I have two of his barrels and couldn't be happier, work is top notch, both will shoot a single hole, and overall a great guy to deal with.

Anyone else have an input? I am looking for a barrel but am unsure of who to go with as bartlein and benchmark are at the top of my list. I would try a Canadian maker but would like some more feedback as it is a pretty expensive purchase.

I just orderd a brarrel form JC this morning because I have heard some good things about the barrels he is making. I have had Shilen and Mcgowen barrels in the past and in my opinion there quality control in lacking and you are rolling the dice if your going to get a good or sub standard barrel from either one. I have also had a couple of Benchmark barrels and both are top notch but they are on the expensive side.

Report back when you get it screwed on

Great guy and great barrels, always looking to make things better. I have a new one ordered, its going on a TR/FTR rifle. I'm not one bit worried about putting it against anything else out there.

Looks as though I too will be ordering one of his barrels (for .300 Sav project). Good reviews, Canadian and about $430 shipped to Alberta...seems like a no-brainer to me.

I was considering a Jury barrel but will give JC a try. Saves me over $50 to boot. That appeals to the Dutch in me lol

I just received a .30 cal sendero taper barrel from him. I looked inside with my optical bore scope, smoothest cut rifled barrel I have ever looked at. I have examined a Jury barrel a friend bought with the same scope, big difference in tooling marks. I am sticking with J.C.

Glad to see the good reviews about him on here , a friend suggested him and I ordered a 24 in medium palma contour in 6.5 from him at a good price :)

I have a Mcgowen barrel also and a couple of Dalsk custom 10/22 barrels and will say the overall finish of my JC Barrels is way nicer, as far as the inside finish of JC's stuff I never see any real copper fouling in them when cleaning, bit of powder residue and then clean patches.

Been to his place. This guy actually MADE the tools and machines used to make the barrels. I was extremely impressed by what he did and how much details he goes into. Like every good tinkerer, he tested a lot of different theories and came up with is own--what works and what doesn't.

Does Jc do any smithing too, or just make the barrels?

Not sure what he all does, but he did true my Rem 700 receiver, does do bolt knobs on them, head spacing, makes brakes, thread caps, stuff like that, don't think he does general repairs or bedding, but you can send him a complete gun for a barrel swap if that's what you are asking.
