Hello everyone! I was doing some reading and it got me thinking about gunpowder storage, a lot of things say a wooden box labeled properly as explosives and should be easy to remove in the case of a fire. Now I have a nice plastic tote that I've been using. It isn't a Rubbermaid or anything it's a heavier plastic with a fold open lid with places for 2 locks. With a printed hazard symbol on it, should I be good to go as far as the law goes? It always has 2 padlocks on it and the powder is in original containers. Primers are separate . I don't want there to be any issues and safety is important. Input is appreciated! I live in an apartment so I don't have access to tools or space to make a wooden box, and have yet to find a place to buy one.

The regs differ for detached homes vs attached dwellings, whether it's private or commercial and the amount. The amount is the aggregate of all powder which I take to include your loaded ammunition.

I believe what you read was an old regulation. I did what you stated where I made an actual box with a pad lock, brass fastners and an explosive sticker.

Having the powders stored safely away from primers is good enough. What you did is okay. Keep them in its original containers and air tight and Way from children.

That sounds sufficient to me.
