Looking at building up reloading supplies for the 6.5 Swede.

Outside of the typical 140gr Nos Partitions, I'm interested in hearing anyones experiences with these hunting projectiles i. Either 130 or 140gr.

Nosler ABs, Barnes TSX, Berger Match Hunting VLDs or Lapua Scenars

I have just acquired some Sierra Game King 130 gr HPBT bullets. To me, they look very interesting as a WT bullet .

I reserve the 156-160gr for jumping bedded deer and perforating moose.........anything that requires 6 feet of penetration. Love the 140gr Partition and the 130gr Scirocco II We shoot a Win 70 FWT,T3 and a Husky 38 full military......all manner of hoofed game taken and black bears.......Harold

140 gn Sierra Game King has been my WT deer bullet in the Swede

Never had any problem with penetration

Handload runs about 2750 fps. At 40 yards, that bullet broke the on-side scapula, traveled through the base of the neck, broke the offside humerus, and came to rest under the skin - still had about 65% mass retention

Accurate and cheap to boot.

Fat

I've been using 130 grain Barnes TSX and 129 Grain Nosler Bonded BTs. Both work exceptionally. I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of the TSXs which will shoot honest 1/2-3/4 inch groups out of my Sako carbine and they perform spectacularly on game. This is much better accuracy then I have come to expect from solid copper bullets - especially out of a (relatively) light hunting rifle.

I agree they look very interesting. Have not shot anything yet but paper. In my rifle they are the most accurate bullet I have ever used.
Looking forward to whitetail hunting this year.Expect great performance.
