A Story About Glocks.

Glock refers to their guns as "perfection". Nice to know that even the Austrians have a sense of humour!

...

Those guns are anything but.

Dig your .02 cents out of the crapper.....no one asked for your nonsense! I mean ignorance yours just shines through.

Go watch an iraqveteran8888 video I belive in one he was quoted saying "I love Glock no ones is trying to discredit them only an idiot would think that" and Barry was like "mhmmm"

RIP Barry

Now we have an Iraq vet and a Vietnam War vet saying good and only and idiot would say otherwise......well I guess we found that idiot they were talking about...now please go ahead and excuse yourself before you spew more "opinion" and end up in pink (although that would be nice) we get it you have a hard on for Gaston Glock.

Back to sensible conversation.....

I'm glad there are threads like this. People with a common interest sharing their thoughts. I currently own a Glock 20. I would own a 26 in a heartbeat without the long barrel. Having said that, I strongly dislike the glock grip shape and angle. So, all my other guns are not glocks. Too bad because they are such good pistols.

On another note, I have to call B.S. on the first post regarding throwing a loaded pistol down range and stomping on it. No Glock rep would EVER be so foolish particularly in front of police to do something so potentially dangerous. Ever. It breaks every rule of range safety and would quickly get himself removed from the trials. Even in America. Not to mention no rep would ever risk the gun not working after such a foolhardy move. Ever. Even simple drop tests would never be allowed with a loaded live pistol. C'mon.

Yep, perfection, which is why there is an entire catalogue of fixes, repairs and upgrades for them. Oh, and how many recalls? oh yeah, perfection.
Yeah I love my G19, but man, it's just a gun.

Yup, just a slogan and just a gun. All of my guns, from Glocks, 870's, my Tikka, Savage, CZ 75Ts etc all have fixes, tweaks etc.

They are great, reliable guns.

RIP Barry indeed. Loved the Gun Gripes.

When you claim perfection, you really set yourself up for those that will happily point out shortcomings. But all guns are built on compromises. Size, weight, functionality, accuracy, capacity, wear resistance, ease of maintenance, ergonomics, aesthetics, cost, safety, all compete against each other. And this is complicated by the fact that potential buyers place different levels of importance on the various qualities of the gun.

Some place functionality above all else, even though this can come at the price of reduced accuracy, or in the case of early Glocks, reduced safety.

Reducing weight and cost arguably came at the cost of aesthetics.

So no such thing as perfection in guns, or probably any other product. But once in awhile a manufacturer strikes balances in traits that appeals to the masses. Glock arguably did that, and coupled with shrewd marketing gained them huge market share in an incredibly short time frame. No denying how impressive that feat was.

That said, of all the handguns I own, none of them are Glocks, and likely never will be. Because Glocks just happened to sacrifice some features I highly value, in favor of others. I'm holding out for someone to come up with a gun with a 1911's pointability and aesthetics, but has 3x the capacity, half the weight and size, shoots 1" groups at 100, good for 5 million rounds between cleaning, and costs $59.95. Luckily I have other guns to use in the meantime, lol.

Did you miss the part where I said I was not 100% on the details? This was a long time ago, chill out. Also, stranger things have happened. "Not in America", lol, right.

So what was the point of this post? To suggest that a Glock might have survived being thrown down the range - and being otherwise abused if a rep (breaking every safety rule) might have done that ... and that, therefore, makes the Glock a good gun. I really don't get you Glock guys.

Enough said? That alleged test was to prove durability and reliability, if you can't gather that then there's just no saving you. We might be dealing with a Corey or a Trevor here...

Watch the video I posted for you.....

Edit- op story was from '92 different time and place.

I have seen that video. It is cool. Doesn't tell the whole story though. What it comes down to is that different people may have different ideas of "perfection". To each his own

Yup you got it!

I love my Glock they do what they should and sure kind of fugly but I'm only looking down to sights so it's not really an issue there. I love my cz75b for its own reasons and my Beretta and my Sig's they all have pros and cons.

Heck I'm even looking at the s&w m&p 2.0 do I need another polymer duty gun? No but it has it own merits. And I love all them just the same as my wheel guns....

Pros and cons man p's and c's

I hope I haven't offended by any of my previous statements I'm very sarcastic and like to joke.

If you don't know what the point of my original post was about in the first place, you really have no business posting on this thread. If you're going to continue to try and troll and trigger us "Glock guys" as opposed to contributing constructive criticism, you can butt-out.

I guess we can but not with selector switch and pinned to 10 obviously defeating the fun factor....might be time for a trip to the states

True, but watch out because I guess that CrazyHands13 might tell you off for showing that you obviously "don't know what the point of my original post was about in the first place".

I hope you can deal with that.

Why must you bait and troll continuously? You realize that's against the forum rules, no?
