I made a bit of an impulse buy on the EE the other night. picked up a really nice looking Bettinsoli x9 sporting. My intentions are to use it for sporting clays primarily. There are a few Bettinsolis in use with the guys I shoot with and overall, folks have good things to say about them. (the guns, not the fellas I shoot with) The one I bought has the adjustable comb, I've never had one of those before. I'm sure youtube and google will help me figure that out. If I really take a liking to the whole 2 barrel set up, I may have to see about fitting it with one of those fancy adjustable butt plates. Only if there's a need for it.
Anyone familiar with the model? Good or bad?

A few guys at our club have had Bettinsoli guns & have since sold them. I don't think there was anything wrong with the guns as the guys who had them are always buying & selling.
Just like the tide. They come, they go. Lots of brand name guns sold too so I don't think it's a really good or bad sign.

If you bought the gun I was looking at you got a pretty good deal. The adjustable comb changes your point of impact (POI). Raising it raises your POI. You might want a higher POI for trap than for sporting clays, for example. Moving it right or left can move the pattern left or right, just like a back sight. Pattern it and see what I mean.

I was looking at that one as soon as the post went up. And didn't act on it. A few days later I was silly enough to msg him about it. And to my surprise it was still available. I think it was a good deal. Sorry if I cut your grass on that one. I've been talking myself out or over unders for years now.

Good day, do you have any opinion of the Bettinsoli X-9 yet? I'm looking at one as my first over under and I'm wondering if I shouldn't just spend an extra 500 or so for a Beretta.

Actually, I'm just back from shooting it for the second time. I really like the gun, but it is the first o/u that i have really shot. it is considerably different than the A400 that I normally shoot, I found it a bit heavy to get moving and not as lively as the the beretta but again its really new to me. out of a small group that shot today there were 4 bettinsolis. 3 x8s and my x9. one of the guys has used his x8 for trap and said he has aprox 8000 rounds through it and no issues.
I picked up the x9 sporting because it looked like a good deal on a decent gun. I still think I did alright on it. I may have to adjust the the comb a little more but the left and right seem to be pretty good but maybe just a bit more time behind the gun will settle it out. overall, I'm happy with it.

Thanks for the response. I love the look and feel of the X9 Sporting. Think I might just save the 500 for ammo and get the Bettinsoli.
