Hello Fella's,

I am doing a sniper rifle build, was wondering if anyone knows of a source for a reproduction transit case. I have read on old posts there was someone on here that did build them. Unfortunately the posts were old and no names were mentioned.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and kind regards always,

Just out of curiosity what does an original in good condition No.15 English chest go for these days........with/without scope??????????
How about the price of an original Longbranch chest?????
I have my sights on a original English chest I will be looking at in the next few days....unfortunately no rifle though, not sure if it is a scope less No.15 chest!
Thanks for your input.

Never seen a scope mounted on the chest.....always seen them on the rifles.

A brit chest should run from $400 to $700 depending on condition. I would suggest adding $300 to those figures if dealing with an original Cdn chest.

For those looking to build their own chests, I can supply the hinges and hasps from scrap Bren transit chests, but you would have to wait for the weather to warm up a bit...too damn cold to be heading out to the Bren chest mountain this time of year..

Do you have any BREN chests in reasonably good condition that you would sell?

LOL........Stencollector you are absolutely right, I've never seen a scope mounted on a chest as well. I meant to say "Less Telescope"...you know that. Anyhow went and checked out the chest, it's original in every way.....it also is not a "Less Telescope" chest. It's in "good" shape,....2 cracks that could be repaired!!! Problem is the fellow is not motivated by money, he has a surplus of that so I have to find a collectable Winchester as that is what he collects. He might have to throw some additional cash my way as most collectable Winchesters are more valuable than the price of a T chest.

I am used to the "less telescope" merely being on a card tacked to the end of the chest. There was no difference between a "w.scope" and a "less telescope" rifle transit chest. Since whatever rifle is not going to be matched to the chest, the markings on the card are relatively moot point.

Yes, there are some salvageable in the pile. But nothing will move until Spring. Even then, they are a bugger to wrap and post. I prefer pickup for those somewhat local.

You may be my only source of an original BREN chest. I have a Lithgow BREN box but it's shorter and the gun has to be taken apart to fit.

I've been trying to get original WW2 accessories for my BREN but they seem to be non-existent. The best I can get is 1950's dated. I did manage to get a bunch of WW2 Inglis magazines and the steel mag boxes though.

I think a lot of equipment must have been piled up and just burned years ago because no one wanted it.

I have one of those short boxes as well. Nobody wants them as a dewat won't fit into it with the barrel welded to the gun.

I do have 20 or so ex-Cdn service Bren wallets with their bits still in them. Bought 50 in total from the same salvage yard that had the crates.

Are you going to be selling any of those BREN wallets?
